7Artisans has introduced a new cine zoom lens, the Sprite 24-96mm T2.9, aimed at providing a cost-effective option for filmmakers.
This addition joins the growing trend of accessible cine zoom lenses, reflecting the industry’s expansion with more affordable choices in recent years.
Key Features and Design
The lens is designed with a parfocal capability, ensuring that the focus remains constant when zooming. It boasts a durable, all-metal construction and is relatively lightweight at 2.4kg (5.29 lbs). Its optical performance is engineered to minimize focus breathing, and it offers a close focusing distance of 1m (3.3 feet).
Enhanced Flexibility with Teleconverter
7Artisans also plans to offer a 1.5x teleconverter accessory for this lens, which will extend its focal range to 36-144mm, adding versatility for various shooting requirements.
Compatibility and Availability
The Sprite 24-96mm T2.9 lens will initially be available with PL and EF mounts, with four additional mount options to follow: Sony E, Leica L, Canon RF, and Nikon Z. This range of compatibility underscores 7Artisans’ commitment to serving a broad spectrum of cinematography professionals and enthusiasts.
