Atlanta DTH (ADTH) has announced the release of its latest product, the ADTH NextGen TV USB and App for Android and Fire TV.

This affordable receiver provides access to hundreds of free ATSC 1.0 and ATSC 3.0 channels. It is designed to work with existing televisions, online streaming devices, and set-top boxes that run on Google Android or Amazon Fire TV. The tuner is fully compliant with NextGen TV standards and can decrypt A3SA DRM-encrypted channels. It connects via USB, making it easy to install, including on Walmart’s Onn 4K Pro.

Expansion of NextGen TV Products

According to Ivy Shou, President of Atlanta DTH, the new USB tuner follows the success of their NextGen TV Box, which began shipping in Q3 2023. Shou emphasizes that both products are designed to bring ATSC 3.0 NextGen TV to a wider audience.

Enhanced Viewing with NextGen TV

NextGen TV delivers several enhancements over standard and HD television, including 2160p 4K UHD video resolution, 120 Hz frame rate, high dynamic range (HDR), wide color gamut, and improved audio. The 4K UHD format is now the standard for most consumer TVs, offering four times the resolution of HD displays. HDR and wide color gamut enable content creators to produce more lifelike images. HDR broadcasts are now available in 57 TV markets, reaching over 70 million viewers across the United States.

Advanced Emergency Alerting Features

NextGen TV also supports Advanced Emergency Alerting, which allows for the delivery of geo-targeted, rich-media alerts even during power or internet outages. This technology is available to 75% of U.S. households through on-air and IP-based sources.
