Jet-Stream, a leading video streaming services provider and an early innovator in the streaming media industry, has announced a collaboration with Unified Streaming, a prominent video streaming software company.

This partnership aims to provide advanced video packaging solutions for Jet-Stream’s enterprise customers.

Integration of Unified Packager

At the core of Jet-Stream’s Advanced Packaging solution is Unified Packager, a key product from Unified Streaming. This software allows Jet-Stream to offer its largest clients enhanced features, increased flexibility, and better control over their video packaging needs.

Unified Packager seamlessly integrates with Jet-Stream’s software stack, offering a comprehensive set of software components. This advanced packaging solution enables Jet-Stream to address their customers’ specific use cases and requirements efficiently, offering more packaging possibilities. Customers can manage security settings and prepare content for streaming more effectively.

Current and Future Applications

Currently, Jet-Stream is using Unified Streaming technology exclusively for video-on-demand (VOD) use cases. However, the company plans to expand the use of Unified Packager to include live streaming and digital video recorder (DVR) workflows in the near future.

Customer Benefits

The integration of Unified Packager allows Jet-Stream customers to customize video packaging, providing agility, choice, and full control over media asset settings. Previously, customers had to customize videos for an entire library, but now they can target their packaging needs more precisely, customizing videos per title. This enables multiple packages per asset, based on the user’s device and location.

Additionally, the inclusion of Unified Packager in Jet-Stream workflows enables customers to update their content as needed, including adding multiple languages to an asset and changing digital rights management (DRM) settings.

Other improvements include the ability to change the size of video segments for short-form videos, like trailers or pre-rolls, optimizing media startup. Overall, this new solution enhances the video streaming packaging processes for Jet-Stream’s largest customers.
