AJA has announced the release of version 1.5.7 for its U-TAP products. This update brings significant enhancements, especially for Zoom users on Apple silicon computers.
It addresses and fixes the issue where video captured via U-TAP HDMI or U-TAP SDI devices displayed incorrectly, showing a scrambled or blinds-like effect when used with Zoom version 5.16.x on Apple silicon Macs.
Correction in the Update Package
Another key correction made in this version pertains to the U-TAP updater package. Previously, there was a mistake in the Info.plist file within the package, which has now been resolved.
Improved Configuration Options for Zoom
The new update ensures that the Zoom application now provides several options for selecting and configuring a connected U-TAP device, enhancing user experience and flexibility.
Introduction to AJA U-TAP
For those unfamiliar, the AJA U-TAP devices are compact, USB 3.0-powered capture devices that support HDMI and SDI inputs. Designed for ease of use, affordability, and portability, U-TAP offers a seamless plug-and-play capture solution across Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms. It is ideal for a wide array of uses, including video conferencing, streaming, social media, gaming, and more.
No Need for Additional Software
One of the standout features of the U-TAP is its size – it’s smaller than a smartphone. Furthermore, it simplifies the capture process by eliminating the need for additional software drivers. Users can easily connect their SDI or HDMI sources to their computers for capture, making it a versatile tool for creators and professionals alike.
