Amagi, a global leader in cloud-based SaaS technology for broadcast and Connected TV (CTV), has successfully showcased its Zero Slate technology on VIZIO’s WatchFree+ channels.
This development is part of Amagi’s Stream Personalization initiative, introducing a patent-pending technology that dynamically adjusts ad break lengths on a per-viewer basis. This eliminates the need for slates or filler content during linear ad breaks.
Impact on Viewership
The personalized approach to digital streaming has resulted in a significant increase in viewership. Data from Amagi Analytics shows more than a 20% increase on VIZIO’s channels using Zero Slate capabilities. This innovation from Amagi aims to create a more engaging and profitable future for the entertainment industry, enhancing the overall viewer experience.
Reduction in Viewer Churn
Amagi Analytics data indicates that slates used to fill unsold ad pods can increase viewer churn by up to 15% in the Free Ad-supported Streaming TV (FAST) ecosystem. Zero Slate’s success demonstrates that personalizing ad pod lengths can improve viewer engagement and quality of viewing experiences. This is a crucial step for Amagi towards offering a broader suite of Stream Personalization capabilities for better linear viewing experiences.
Partnership with VIZIO
“We are pleased to partner with Amagi on this showcase of their Zero Slate technology. This collaboration reinforces VIZIO’s commitment to enhancing user experiences and delivering personalized content as we expand Zero Slate across more channels,” said Katherine Pond, Group Vice President of Platform Content and Partnerships at VIZIO.
