The VCLX Lineup

Last year, Anton/Bauer introduced the VCLX lineup with the NM2, a 600Wh NiMh block battery. The VCLX LI 1600 is the latest addition to this series.

Features of the VCLX LI 1600

The Anton/Bauer VCLX LI 1600 is a freestanding 1642Wh Lithium-Ion block battery. It measures 4.09 x 2.48 x 9.46 inches (12.4 x 6.3 x 24 cm) and weighs 25.5 lbs (11.5 kg). This compact and silent powering solution features a rugged anodized aluminum chassis with over-molded end caps and handle grips. The IP65 rating ensures it is weatherproof, making it suitable for outdoor shooting in remote locations.

A 2.4-inch color LCD screen on top of the battery displays the remaining runtime, charge time, and active power draw. The VCLX LI 1600 can power devices at 14.4V, 28V, and 48V. It includes two XLR4 (14.4V/24A) ports, one XLR3 (28V and 48V/16A) port, and a 5V/2A USB-A port. The battery can support a continuous power draw of up to 850W and power a fully rigged ARRI ALEXA 35 camera rig for 5.3 hours.

Removable Charger

The VCLX LI 1600 features a removable charger on the side of the unit. This design helps minimize heat buildup, extend the battery cells’ lifespan, eliminate the need for noisy cooling fans, and reduce the risk of unit failure due to component malfunction, thereby maximizing investment longevity and equipment uptime.

The Anton/Bauer VCLX LI 1600 is available for preorder at $4950/€4680 and is expected to begin shipping by the end of this month.
