ARRI: Support System for Canon EOS C400 Cinema Camera

Canon recently released the EOS C400 Cinema Camera, marking a significant update in their professional video lineup. In response, ARRI, known for their professional camera accessories, has introduced a dedicated support system for this new camera.

ARRI designs a wide range of tailored accessories for professional cameras, and the new support system for Canon’s RF-mount cinema camera is no exception. This robust support system enhances the camera’s functionality and versatility for various production needs.

Gimbal, Handheld, or Studio Use

The ARRI modular top plate is compatible with both the ARRI CCH-4 top handle and HEX handle extensions, as well as Canon’s own handle. This compatibility allows for seamless transitions between different setups, whether for gimbal, handheld, or studio use.

NATO Rail Integration

The cage system features multiple mounting points, with side brackets that function as NATO rails. This design provides versatile mounting options and includes a safety release mechanism for added security.

Base Plate for Quick Transitions

The base plate of the support system does not require tools for fitting the adapters. According to ARRI, the rig can slide out of a tripod dovetail and into a shoulder mount or gimbal within seconds, facilitating fast and easy transitions.

Minimized Tool Requirements

ARRI Multi-Hex screws are compatible with Hex 3, 4, 5, or 5/32” screwdrivers, allowing users to adapt their camera on set without needing a wide array of tools.

Availability

The ARRI support systems will be available in four different sets: the Basic Cine Set, Pro Cine Set, Basic Broadcast Set, and the Pro Broadcast Set. Pricing information has not yet been provided.
