Firmware Updates for the Astral Series from Sound Devices

Sound Devices has released new firmware updates for its wireless Astral series, which include the Test and Measurement (T&M) mode.

This mode enables precise acoustic phase and frequency measurements of loudspeakers. The T&M mode is included in the firmware versions A20-Nexus/A20-Nexus Go v1.63, A20-Mini/A20-TX v7.64, and A20-Remote v7.61.

Additional Changes and Improvements

In addition to the Test and Measurement mode, the firmware updates include several other changes and performance enhancements.

Firmware A20-Nexus/Nexus Go v1.63
New Features:
  • Support for T&M (Test and Measurement) modulation.
Changes:
  • Improved AutoAssign algorithm.
  • Faster unmuting of NexLinked transmitters.
Fixes:
  • System Date/Time changes are now automatically sent to NexLinked transmitters.
Firmware A20-TX v7.64
New Features:
  • Support for T&M (Test and Measurement) modulation.
Fixes:
  • Fixed timecode drift after removing the battery or powering down.
  • Automatically resumed recordings after a prolonged power-down period no longer result in an invalid timestamp.
  • Fixed the issue where A20-Mini does not always power on with Lav connection.
  • Various system improvements.
