ATG Danmon Completes Multi-Camera Studio and Control Room Upgrades for That Lot

The upgrade included UHD switching, routing, recording, monitoring and archiving.

“The move to our new headquarters at 135 Bishopsgate gives us additional space and a work environment that is much more in line with the dynamic production style we are aiming for,” said Ben Forder, head of video at That Lot. “In addition to the UHD update, ATG worked with us on an audio system update to support the new audio workflow, including the Unity server, redirection, and additional features such as de-embedding from SDI channels.”

This Lot worked with ATG Danmon three years ago when it brought its broadcast-quality facilities to life as promised by Holborn. The new refurbishment consists almost entirely of equipment installed in these spaces for the first time, with the addition of more studio lighting.

“The studio retains the original Blackmagic Design 4K UHD cameras, which continue to deliver excellent results both in the studio and on the road,” said Jonathan Hughes, Head of Systems Integration at ATG Danmon.

Adjustable to provide the lighting needed for live or recorded productions, the Cirro ceiling mount illuminates the studio. The built-in full color LED cyclorama ensures that color keys are clearly superimposed on any background. The studio also offers support for 360-degree surround video and audio capture if needed.

“The control room kit is used for live production and editing. The enhanced features here now include a complete UHD video mixer and routing switcher, recording to Softron recorders and SNS EVO NAS. We’ve also moved the digital audio mixer, graphics computers, custom Console Console and Sonifex intercoms,” Hughes said.

“The new setup is very similar to the original, with the exception of some modifications to the router interface and reconnecting cables where necessary to account for the different studio and control room sizes.”
