Atlona has released a major upgrade for its OmniStream AV over IP platform called OmniStream 2.0 firmware.
This update brings several enhancements to the platform, including support for 4K/60 video with 4:4:4 color sampling, improved bitrate efficiency, and integrated multiview processing capabilities.
OmniStream 2.0 also introduces multiview window processing, which enables the display of multiple sources from OmniStream Pro encoders on a single screen using the AT-OMNI-121 decoder. This eliminates the need for an external multiview processor and is particularly beneficial in environments such as lecture halls, auditoriums with overflow rooms, network operations centers, and multi-room monitoring applications.
Other notable features included in the OmniStream 2.0 update are ultra-fast switching between 4K/60 video streams, integrated Ethernet link testing between encoders and decoders, and the ability to preview video streams as thumbnails through Atlona’s Velocity AV control system or the OmniStream web GUI.
With these advancements, Atlona aims to provide exceptional picture quality, expanded use cases, and improved functionality for networked AV deployments in corporate, educational, and various other settings.
