Avid | Stream IO: Ingest and Playout Solution

Avid will launch the latest version of Avid | Stream IO at IBC2024. This software solution is designed to support fast turnaround workflows for news and sports, with compatibility with SMPTE 2110 standards, allowing customers flexibility in choosing their infrastructure.

Avid Ada: AI-Powered Speech-to-Text Applications

Avid will showcase three applications of its AI framework, Avid Ada:

  • Available Now: PhraseFind with the new Transcript Tool accelerates editing by displaying automated transcripts of source clips for direct timeline integration.
  • Tech Preview: MediaCentral | Cloud UX will feature AI services for generating transcripts, identifying speakers, and searching text, with multi-language support and offline capabilities.
  • Tech Preview: Pro Tools will introduce a transcript window for scanning and searching speech data within audio files, displaying text alongside associated clips for easier editing.
Updates to Postproduction Workflows

Avid is enhancing postproduction workflows by automating volume and pan information in Media Composer and enabling seamless metadata transfer between picture and sound with Pro Tools.

Avid NEXIS Intelligent Caching

Avid will preview a new intelligent caching feature for Avid NEXIS, improving real-time collaboration for remote teams, whether on-premises, in the cloud, or through Avid’s SaaS-based virtual post-production environment, Avid | Edit On Demand.

MediaCentral Platform Enhancements

Avid will demonstrate further updates to the MediaCentral platform, including a rules engine for automated workflows, improved newsroom features, and new editing capabilities in MediaCentral | Cloud UX.

Expanding Third-Party Integrations

Avid continues to expand its ecosystem of third-party integrations, offering customers enhanced production tools. Key partner solutions include:

  • AI-driven transcript and caption creation, and language translations from TRACO and Digital Nirvana for MediaCentral.
  • Integration with Marquis for proxy workflows and high-resolution file transfers from Sony and LiveU into Avid environments.
  • Seamless backup and archiving of assets with Spectra Logic’s RioBroker panel for Media Composer.
  • VFX tools for Media Composer from Doom Solutions.
  • AI-powered digital asset management with ioMoVo’s panel in Media Composer.
  • Dropbox Replay integration for feedback in Pro Tools and Media Composer.
  • Expanded ARA workflows with new integrations, including iZotope RX Spectral Editor and Synchro Arts, with upcoming previews of integrations with Steinberg SpectraLayers, WaveLab, and Acon Digital Acoustica.
