Matrox Video has announced that it will present a technology preview of Avio 2, the world’s first open standards-based IPMX/ST 2110 IP KVM extender, at IBC2024.

The event will take place from September 13-16 at the Amsterdam RAI. Avio 2 is the latest addition to Matrox Video’s IP KVM product line, offering high video quality and performance. It supports up to 4K60 4:4:4 resolution, ensuring real-time remote performance.

Key Features of Avio 2

Avio 2 represents a significant development in IP KVM technology by adopting open standards. This approach enhances quality, interoperability, and flexibility, making it suitable for professional AV/IT, medical, broadcast, and high-quality media production workflows. It delivers audio, video, and USB control over IP in an industry-standard format, helping system integrators, consultants, and end users optimize workflows and reduce costs.

Compatibility and Scalability

The Avio 2 IP KVM extender integrates with existing infrastructure and scales efficiently for various installation sizes. It enables secure, real-time KVM-over-IP extension and switching over 1GbE, while supporting uncompressed 4K 4:4:4 video over 10GbE networks. This makes it ideal for applications that require high-color fidelity and image quality.

Advanced Features for Mission-Critical Environments

Avio 2 includes multiple codec options, such as JPEG XS, and is designed to enhance performance, productivity, and operational efficiency in demanding environments. As part of the IPMX standard, it supports NMOS, an open API for device discovery and connection management, facilitating integration with third-party systems in broadcast and live event workflows.
