Streamlining video operations with Link UHD and MediaConnect integration.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has unveiled support for AWS Elemental MediaConnect in its AWS Elemental Link UHD. This integration offers a streamlined and cost-effective approach to establish live video workflows in the cloud, presenting a more flexible alternative to traditional on-site, satellite, or fiber setups.

Before this update, Link was limited to connecting solely with AWS Elemental MediaLive for channel input. The new MediaConnect support for Link UHD broadens its capabilities, facilitating low-latency contribution, monitoring, and distribution without the need for additional transcoding.

Setting up the Link UHD device is straightforward: plug in the video, ethernet, and power. Pairing it with MediaConnect involves creating a flow via the AWS Management Console or API. Once set, MediaConnect is primed to distribute the video stream to specified destinations, both within and outside AWS.

Link UHD and MediaConnect empower users to access video feeds pre-encoding with AWS Elemental MediaLive, offering more control and reduced latency. Once in MediaConnect, video can be transported across AWS Regions, securely shared, or returned on-site.

Customers seeking live cloud production solutions desire more control over video processing. With MediaConnect, video can be sent directly to Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instances, allowing deployment of applications from ISVs and AWS Partners.
