Interview with Lieven Bertels, Segment Marketing Lead – Immersive Experience, Barco at ISE 2024.
My name is Lieven Bertels with Barco in Belgium. Barco is a technology company that has been in business for 90 years, and we started with audio and moved into video projection already in the ’80s. We are experts in immersive video projection and we present a lot of new products at ISE 2024.
TKT1957: What new products is your company showcasing at ISE 2024?
Lieven: First up, our Encore3 image processing, which is the new image processor for live events and fixed install.
Next, very important is our new video projector, the i600. The i600 is a 1 DLP projector available in 8,000, 10,000, and 15,000 lumens, which is ideal for applications in immersive experiences, in museums, houses of worship, and in the boardroom. It is a 4K projector with super-fast electronics with our proprietary Pulse electronics from Barco. Barco is also the specialist in outdoor video mapping, and we have high brightness video projectors for that.
TKT1957: What are the main directions of development most characteristic in your segment of the industry?
Lieven: We are starting to look at a wider portfolio of video projectors and we are also exploring new technologies for content creation.
TKT1957: Are there any developments in integrating AI into your solutions?
Lieven: So, we are taking an interest in artificial intelligence, looking at how people can create content for video mapping in the future.
