Bit Part has introduced a new device, the bitbox, which offers interference-free control of cameras from long distances, aimed at improving the efficiency and quality of footage captured by cinematographers, DITs, and ACs.
The bitbox is engineered for filming in difficult conditions and over large expanses. Utilizing a 915 MHz system, it enables remote adjustment of filters, camera settings, and live color grading from a significant distance. The device is user-friendly with a push-button interface and boots up in less than five seconds. It provides these features without the complications associated with spectrum interference, the necessity for mesh network systems, or complex do-it-yourself setups.
Operational Details
Bitbox seamlessly integrates into existing networks, simulating the effect of being connected directly to a switch. This feature ensures a consistent experience across all connected devices without the need for any wireless configuration. The device connects via USB-C Ethernet to tablets or cameras, eliminating the need for additional adapters.
Compatibility and Use
Technicians can easily align their camera’s IP settings with their network to utilize bitbox. The device is compatible with a variety of cameras and accessories from major manufacturers such as Sony, Arri, RED, and Vision Research.
Pricing and Availability
The bitbox is available for reservation and is expected to be released in the latter half of 2024. Pricing will be disclosed during the NAB show.
