Bitmovin and Akamai Technologies announced that Bitmovin’s Observability for video playback, previously known as Bitmovin Analytics, is now available on Akamai Cloud for the Akamai Adaptive Media Player 2 (AMP2).
The integration provides improved streaming efficiency, real-time monitoring, and deeper alignment with Akamai services.
Expanded Observability Features
Bitmovin’s Observability gives streaming providers the ability to monitor and analyze video performance in real time. The updated version includes expanded visualization tools, enhanced data models, real-time alerts, and faster event tracking. These features offer broader visibility across the streaming workflow.
Alignment With Existing Bitmovin Tools
The solution joins Bitmovin’s Live and VOD Encoders already operating on Akamai Cloud, as well as Bitmovin’s Player, which now supports AMP2. Together, these components allow customers to use scalable, integrated video workflows with Akamai’s global CDN.
AMP2 Ecosystem
The deployment follows the release of AMP2, Akamai’s enterprise-grade media player designed for broad device support and simplified maintenance. With Bitmovin’s Observability on Akamai Cloud, AMP2 users gain complete insight into their streaming performance while reducing workflow complexity.

Executive Comments
Bitmovin CEO Stefan Lederer stated that expanding Observability to Akamai Cloud strengthens the ongoing collaboration between the companies and enhances data-driven monitoring for streaming providers.
Scott Lerner, SVP Global Services at Akamai, noted that the integration provides unified insights directly within AMP2 and supports Akamai’s strategy to deliver more built-in functionality to customers.
