Blackmagic Design Unveils New Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K

Philip: It’s interesting how Blackmagic is really focusing on camera development, introducing some impressive models. I’m curious about their choice of the L-Mount as the standard, though. My understanding is that the L-Mount is similar to the EF Mount but adaptable for many other lenses, like EF and PL, which are more standard in the industry, along with the B4 Mount. The dual ISO is a great feature. The form factor is intriguing; it’s akin to a 35mm style, maybe a bit chunkier, so perhaps it’s a hybrid camera. It’s fascinating to see them release cameras with higher resolutions like 6K. We’ve talked about shooting in 4K for 2K to allow for reframing in post-production. While we still don’t see much 4K delivery, having 6K does provide additional resolution for reframing and recropping, offering a lot of flexibility.
