Blackmagic has upgraded its camera application for iPhones to version 1.3, bringing several significant enhancements.
The update includes a new feature allowing users to monitor audio through connected earphones, offering real-time audio feedback. Additionally, it introduces rack focus controls, which enable users to adjust the focus during video recording, enhancing creative flexibility.
Lens and Display Enhancements
The latest update extends support to the 48mm lens on newer models, specifically the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro. This addition broadens the options for professional-grade videography with compatible iPhone models.
User Interface and Performance Improvements
Users will notice smoother transitions when switching the camera orientation between landscape and portrait modes. The update also speeds up the display of projects listed under the media tab and reduces latency for HDMI video feeds. Moreover, details such as name, reel, scene, and take number are now displayed over HDMI during recordings, which facilitates better project management.
General Updates
Overall performance and stability of the app have been improved, making it more reliable for professional use.
This update is available for download from the App Store and is expected to enhance the video recording capabilities of iPhones significantly, particularly with the new audio monitoring and rack focus features.
