Blackmagic Web Presenter Software 3.4 Update: New REST API and Bug Fixes

The newest version, 3.4, of the Blackmagic Web Presenter software introduces significant updates, particularly for the HD and 4K models of the Web Presenter.

Key among these updates is the addition of a REST API, which offers enhanced integration capabilities for software developers. This API enables deeper integration into automation systems, allowing for customized control over streaming parameters. This feature surpasses the simpler XML-based settings available in previous versions. Additionally, users can now remotely update streaming platform details and even develop bespoke applications for controlling the Web Presenter.

Bug Fixes and Enhancements
Version 3.4 addresses several bugs, including compatibility issues with the latest Google Pixel phones for mobile tethering. Another critical fix is for the H.265 streaming issue with SRT on YouTube, where streams were not functioning correctly. As a temporary solution, the default streaming settings have been switched to H.264, with the option to override this setting in the XML file if necessary.
