Arkona Technologies GmbH, a leading provider of IP core infrastructure solutions for premium broadcast productions, has announced the launch of its new software-based service, BLADE//master.
This service is included at no extra cost with the purchase of the company’s BLADE//runner suite, a comprehensive collection of live broadcast production tools. BLADE//master is being showcased for the initial time at the NAB 2024 event, located at Arkona’s booth SU 6037.
BLADE//master: Enhancing Live Production Workflows
BLADE//master is designed to streamline the incorporation of the BLADE//runner ecosystem into existing broadcast control systems. It achieves this by offering a customizable selection of its features through an Ember+ parameter tree. This protocol facilitates remote control over devices via a network.
Moreover, BLADE//master enhances the BLADE//runner applications by merging their capabilities into a unified video and audio router. This integration allows for seamless and quiet transitions using a single crosspoint command.
Core Features and Flexibility
The BLADE//runner suite, which includes BLADE//master, is built on a highly adaptable and modular software framework. It provides a wide range of tools for audio/video routing, compression, and processing, catering to professional broadcast and live production needs. The platform supports dynamic creation, management, and removal of processing functions, which can be controlled through a web-based user interface, open APIs, and NMOS IS-04/-05 standards.
Erling Hedkvist, responsible for sales and business development at Arkona Technologies, highlighted the ease of integrating and utilizing the advanced SDI and ST 2110 features of the BLADE//runner platform with the help of BLADE//master. He emphasized the software’s ability to simplify the complexities associated with IP routing, presenting a user-friendly interface akin to traditional audio/video routers.
Deployment and Scalability
BLADE//master is versatile in its deployment, capable of running on a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) server or the Arkona AT300 Programmable Acceleration Card (PAC). To ensure high availability, multiple instances of BLADE//master can be operated simultaneously, offering enhanced redundancy for critical broadcast environments.
