The camera utilizes a 33MP 4/3″ CMOS sensor and it is capable of capturing 8K video at up to 30p or 4K video at up to 60p. It is probably pretty safe to assume that the sensor in this camera is the same one that was shown in Sharp’s 8K camera that we first saw at NAB 2019.

The G1 Pro records 8-bit H.264 or 10-bit H.265. 4K recording is done at 150 Mb/s and 8K at 600 Mb/s. If you prefer, you can also capture in ProRes 422LT/ ProRes 422/ ProRes 422HQ (certification pending) or output 8K via the HDMI 2.1 port. The camera utilizes a single CFast 2.0 card or you can record externally to an NVMe SSD using the USB-C port.

Internal Recording Modes
  • MOV/MP4/ProRes 422/ProRes 422 Proxy/ProRes 422LT 12-Bit

The G1 Pro features your typical box design and looks similar to a Z CAM. The camera is fairly small and has dimensions of just 5″ x 4.3″ x 4.3″ and it weighs around 3 lb.

The camera has a 2″ LCD screen on the body for making menu and operational changes, and an array of 1/4″-20 mounting threads. There are also four function buttons that can be customized.

For streaming, the G1 Pro features Wi-Fi, a 5G extension, and Ethernet connectivity. If you need to use it in multi-cam environments, there are standard BNC timecode in and out ports. The camera also has a single mini XLR connector and a 3.5mm mic input jack.
