– What new products is your company showcasing at IBC2024?
We are showcasing our product, cloudSwXtch, which enables remote production in a cloud environment. Specifically, we’re talking about our new ability to move JPEG XS and uncompressed 2110 into the cloud losslessly. We’re also highlighting our partnership with Tachyon for format conversion.
– What are your thoughts about Artificial Intelligence?
AI is a fascinating field. All of the cloud platforms have strong AI modules that help move the industry forward, but we’re finding that you can’t effectively use these AI modules unless you have the data to feed them. This data is typically produced on-premises in live facilities, such as during sporting events. Getting it to the cloud in a format that fully leverages AI capabilities is a challenge. This is a challenge that swXtch.io solves with our cloudSwXtch product. We can transport the data from its point of production to the cloud, where you want to run AI, and then deliver it in either uncompressed or compressed formats.
– What do you think are the main trends in the industry?
The trends we’ve observed over the last few years are significant. Three years ago, people thought that remote production was too far in the future, even though they were interested. A year ago, everyone wanted to do it but wasn’t sure how. This year, we have production customers doing it. We’re conducting live remote production in the major clouds today using JPEG XS and 2110.
