Tieline The Codec Company, a prominent manufacturer of audio codecs, has announced the availability of their new Bridge-IT II codec.

Unveiled at NAB2024, the ½ RU Bridge-IT II received the Best of Show award. It is designed to offer cost-effective, reliable, and high-quality broadcast solutions suitable for various applications:

  • Home studios and simple remote broadcasts
  • Studio-to-Transmitter Links (STLs)
  • Studio-to-Studio Links (SSLs)
  • Multi-unicasting and Multicasting applications

Tieline will introduce the Bridge-IT XTRA II, a 1RU version with dual internal power supplies and additional I/Os, at IBC2024. This model is anticipated to ship later this year.

Advanced Capabilities and Modern Networking Support

Both the Bridge-IT II and Bridge-IT XTRA II codecs incorporate the popular features from the first-generation Bridge-IT, including a front panel screen and keypad for easy menu navigation, XLR analog and digital AES inputs, various encoding options, and support for multi-unicast and multicast connections. New features catering to modern networking needs include:

  • Native support for AES67, ST2110-30, ST2022-7, Livewire, RAVENNA, and AMWA NMOS IS-04 and IS-05
  • Two full-duplex mono connections or full-duplex stereo
  • Multiple Ethernet and AoIP ports
  • Failover to another connection, HTTP stream, or audio file playback
  • Support for SmartStream PLUS redundant streaming, Fuse-IP bonding, SIP, and wireless cellular modems
  • Real-time monitoring and control using the ToolBox HTML5 web-GUI and optional Cloud Codec Controller software
