TKT1957 and RAYS (Azerbaijan Digital and Audiovisual Broadcasting Industry) held an event that brought together technical specialists from TV channels, media holdings, production studios and distributors of equipment for TV broadcasting and film production of this Transcaucasian republic.
The conference, held in the heart of the business and social life of the capital – in the Landmark Tower III business center, was attended by representatives of RAYS, Azercosmos, AllStar, Azerizone, Baku Media Center, AzTV, Baku TV, İTV, Space TV, ATV, Khazar TV, Real TV, ARB, AFFA, etc. The program included online presentations of manufacturers of broadcast equipment and software solutions: SkyLark, Etere, Grass Valley, and MediaKind.
Igor Kalinin, General Director of Sfera-Video, is worthy of mention for his and his team’s steadfastness in overcoming covid obstacles and how he stirred up genuine interest of those present towards long-term storage of high-resolution digital data on cold disk drives.
Unfortunately, restrictions on entry into Azerbaijan due to the epidemiological situation did not allow the full deployment of the traditional Touch@Try Zone with equipment. However, there is also good news. In 2023, Azerbaijan plans to completely cancel COVID quarantine, and TKT1957, at a low start, is ready to hold a larger event in this wonderfully hospitable country.
One of the hottest topics of modern TV broadcasting – remote production – was reflected in the round table “Remote Production and VAR in Sports.” Invited participants: Farida Lutfaliyeva, AFFA VAR project coordinator (Azerbaijan); Vladimir Shirokov, CEO of Start TV; Mohsen Rajabi, Business Development Director Sport Accelerator Sponix (Qatar); Viktor Rykov, director of sports broadcasts at Qualitron International (Georgia), shared their experience and made it clear that remote production will really work and will soon replace the traditional production process, thanks to economic efficiency, high profitability solutions and the ability to commercialize the many technologies associated with remote production, even in small niche sports.
The business program was finalized with a dinner at the authentic Anadolu restaurant. To describe all the beauty and juiciness of Azerbaijani cuisine, usually, 50 megabytes of text and photos are required, but let’s be concise and merciful so as not to cause burning envy in our respected reader. Dinner was wonderful, as was the company that gathered at the friendly table. Many thanks to RAYS and personally to Ali Aliyev for choosing a restaurant and helping to organize the event!
Also, within the framework of the conference, there were excursions to CBC Sport TV channels, including the VAR-center of the Olympic Stadium in Baku; and ITV – Public Television of Azerbaijan (İctimai Televiziya və Radio Yayımları Şirkəti) – one of the information and entertainment TV channels in Azerbaijan.
