Calrec has been honored with its third consecutive award for its Argo product line, this time at the NAB Show Product of the Year 2024 Awards.
The award celebrates a new variant of the Argo S, designed specifically to meet the demands of audio production, processing, and networking.
Response to Industry Needs The new Argo S variant, showcased at NAB Show 2024, addresses the need for a highly compact mixing solution that fits into small spaces typically found in outside broadcasting (OB) setups. This model emphasizes minimal weight and the need for clear sight lines, crucial in confined spaces.
Customer-Centric Design Philosophy
Dave Letson, Vice President of Sales at Calrec, expressed pride in receiving this accolade, which underscores the company’s commitment to flexibility in both product design and meeting specific customer needs. This approach has been well-received in the industry, as evidenced by previous awards, including last year’s NAB Show Product of the Year and the 2022 Media & Entertainment Best in Market Awards.
Innovative Features of the New Variant
The newly designed Argo S integrates its meter-bridge and touch user interface into a single display row. This allows operators to toggle between different UI modes efficiently, enhancing usability without sacrificing space. The console’s design is not only space-efficient but also supports high customization and the ability to integrate additional equipment such as video monitors conveniently.
Built for Versatility and Reliability
Continuing the Argo line’s reputation for flexibility and robustness, this compact variant maintains independent functionality across its sections, including processing capabilities and connectivity, ensuring reliability and resilience. The accompanying ImPulse1 core is a compact yet powerful 1U unit, capable of supporting 128 to 384 input channels and maintains full compatibility with ST2110 standards.
