Atlona Celebrates Christina Cruzeiro’s Appointment to AVIXA Women’s Council Leadership

Atlona, a subsidiary of Panduit, has proudly announced Christina Cruzeiro’s recent promotion to an executive role within the AVIXA Women’s Council.

In her new capacity as co-chair, Cruzeiro will collaborate with Tammy Fuqua from QSC. Together, they aim to define the council’s primary objectives and broaden the scope of networking opportunities available to its members and the broader organization.

Empowering Women in AV

The AVIXA Women’s Council is a collective of AVIXA members and professionals committed to uplifting and supporting women within the AV sector. The council, which boasts over 1000 members globally, will now benefit from Cruzeiro’s leadership. Her tenure as the co-leader of the Toronto AVIXA Women’s Council for five years, combined with her extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for the AV industry through her roles at Atlona and other organizations, has uniquely positioned her for this executive appointment.

Global Expansion and Industry Growth

Despite focusing on North America, Cruzeiro and Fuqua are determined to extend their influence worldwide. They plan to establish a global task force aimed at disseminating their values and mission to local groups across Europe, Asia, and possibly other regions. Cruzeiro highlighted the challenges and opportunities ahead, noting a decline in female representation in the industry from 14 percent pre-COVID to 11 percent in North America. Their vision includes not only increasing these numbers but also ensuring the long-term retention of women in the AV industry.

Upcoming Events and Initiatives

The co-chairs have several events planned to boost female participation in the AV sector. These include collaborations for International Women’s Day and the annual AVIXA Women’s Council breakfast at InfoComm, which draws over 300 participants. The council is also focusing on recruiting new members and preparing future leaders to take on more significant roles within the organization, with plans to engage sponsors for local event support.

Support from Atlona

Jamey Swigert, Executive Director of Atlona, commended Cruzeiro’s dedication to empowering women in the AV industry. Her leadership of Atlona’s Empowering Women’s Success employee resource group, and her overall passion and cooperative approach, were cited as key reasons for her suitability for the co-chair position of the AVIXA council. Atlona has expressed pride in Cruzeiro’s achievements and her contribution to the industry, recognizing her appointment as a significant accomplishment.
