Chyron has completed the implementation of its cloud-native platform, Chyron LIVE, for Linfield University.
The university is utilizing this technology to produce high-quality coverage of its athletic events. The collaboration aims to enhance the broadcasting capabilities of the Linfield Sports Network, meeting the growing demand from fans and family members for high-standard, real-time event streaming.
Technological Solution
Chyron LIVE provides Linfield University with a comprehensive production environment. The system integrates camera switching, audio mixing, and the overlay of live graphics, which include scores, statistics, and player information. The platform also features capabilities for illustrated replays and clip playback. To simplify operations, Chyron Creative Services developed a custom control panel specifically for the university’s game day broadcasts.
Implementation and Customization
The project was executed quickly. Chyron supplied a unique graphics package for Linfield, designed to integrate with their specific data sources, such as scoreboard data and team rosters. This customized approach ensures a seamless and efficient workflow for the production team, which includes both experienced staff and student employees.
Future Expansion and Distribution
Linfield University has already successfully used Chyron LIVE to produce soccer and volleyball games. The university plans to extend its use of the system to cover other sports, including basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, swimming, and lacrosse. The produced video content is distributed by FloSports for live viewing and social media, creating an end-to-end workflow. The use of AWS Cloud environments allows for flexible scaling of production resources as needed.
