Chyron has announced its lineup for the 2024 NAB Show, focusing on its advanced news graphics systems.
The display will feature the Chyron PRIME platform, CAMIO MOS-driven newsroom graphics integration, and a range of solutions for on-premise, hybrid, and cloud environments including AXIS, Chyron Weather, PRIME Video Walls, and VSAR for virtual sets.
Advancements in PRIME and CAMIO
Carol Bettencourt, Chyron’s Vice President of Marketing, stated that both PRIME and CAMIO platforms have seen significant development recently. The company aims to showcase these updated systems and gather customer feedback to maintain a customer-centric development approach. The PRIME platform, which supports the creation and animation of various graphics, will soon introduce version 4.10, demonstrating the evolution from previous versions.
Enhanced Playout Workflow
The upcoming PRIME 4.10 update will enhance the playout workflow by simplifying operations and offering better control over live-to-air graphics. This includes dynamic data functionality that allows operators to manage data display and source selection actively. Customizable PRIME control panels will also be available to tailor the workflow to a broadcaster’s branding needs.
CAMIO’s Role in Newsrooms
In the newsroom, CAMIO’s latest update enhances its LUCI interface, allowing journalists more control over graphics by using dynamic data controls to manage sources, text, and images. CAMIO’s integration with virtual sets, video walls, and weather graphics streamlines the overall news production process.
Preview of PRIME 5.0
Chyron is also set to preview PRIME 5.0, the next major release of its graphics platform, currently in beta testing. This new version will include easier import and editing features from Adobe tools and will support ProRes outputs. The PRIME Branding module will be updated to include SCTE ad insertion and geographic ad targeting.
Efficiency Tools and Additional Features
Chyron’s AXIS tool, now on AWS Cloud, allows efficient image and illustration creation, integrating with various industry providers and systems. Chyron Weather and NewsTicker continue to expand, offering new features and modules to enhance data management and viewer engagement.
Interactive Demos and Expert Panels
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in interactive demos of Chyron LIVE, a cloud-based live production solution. The booth will also host panels with experts from AWS, Diversified, and Chyron on cloud live production, alongside a case study on Chyron Weather and other discussions.
Collaborations and Awards
Chyron will also present the PRIME Designer of the Year Award and feature its solutions at Diversified’s booth as part of a complete cloud news-production workflow. Bettencourt emphasized the importance of cloud technology in the future of broadcasting and Chyron’s commitment to providing versatile, cloud-enabled solutions for their customers.
