Chyron has unveiled the latest update to its live production engine, PRIME 4.9, aimed at enhancing the creation and delivery of complex graphics for sports and news broadcasting.
This version introduces improvements designed to boost both the efficiency and experience of operators by integrating extensive data management capabilities and streamlining workflows.
Enhanced Data Integration and Workflow Efficiency
The PRIME 4.9 update focuses on simplifying the creation of data-driven graphics by offering comprehensive data integration with a wide range of sources, including text and Excel files, JSON data, and online databases. This allows designers to seamlessly incorporate and customize data within the PRIME platform. A notable addition is the Duplicate Effect feature, which simplifies the process of creating tables linked to data, significantly reducing the time required for designing complex graphics such as leaderboards.
User Experience Improvements
In response to customer feedback, Chyron has made several adjustments to PRIME’s design and playout interfaces to save time and enhance usability. Designers now have access to features that improve scene management, such as zoom-in on keyframes, better organization of keyframe actions, and easier renaming of objects. Additionally, new preview channel quality settings help optimize performance, especially when working with media-rich graphics or in 4K environments.
Operators benefit from keyboard enhancements that streamline the control of graphics during live productions, along with the ability to import and export playout configurations for quick setup changes.
Streamlining Production Workflows
PRIME 4.9 also introduces features to optimize live production workflows, including GPI IN functionality for third-party control and support for hardware bypass workflows without the need for external devices through Matrox I/O cards. Moreover, the update improves the integration with real-time SMT data, ensuring accurate and efficient data use in broadcasts.
Overall, PRIME 4.9 represents Chyron’s commitment to innovation and customer feedback, delivering a powerful toolset for the demanding environments of news and sports production.
