The Public Radio and Television Service of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHRT) has implemented Cinegy’s suite of software solutions as part of its extensive digitization project, which commenced in 2016.
This significant initiative involved a complete transition to tapeless production, facilitating BHRT’s public television broadcasting operations, including two active news departments.
Enhanced Production Efficiency
The implementation of Cinegy software has resulted in noticeable improvements in the efficiency and speed of program production at BHRT. According to Muhamed Žerić, CTO of BHRT, the transition has led to streamlined workflows, reduced program preparation and editing time, and integration of certain workflows, minimizing the number of production staff required.

Cinegy Desktop and Collaboration Capabilities
Cinegy Desktop is a key component of the deployment, allowing up to 60 journalists to work concurrently. The journalists can access the Cinegy Archive database remotely through a standard computer or laptop with a regular Internet connection. This setup enables the team to search, browse, select, and edit clips collaboratively, regardless of their location.
Cinegy Air for Playout Operations
The system also includes Cinegy Air, which manages nearly ten multi-channel playout servers. This solution simplifies the complexity of running multiple channels and offers configurable features that can operate on local hardware, virtual environments, or cloud-based systems.
Content Ingest with Cinegy Capture PRO
Cinegy Capture PRO is another crucial element, providing a multi-channel, real-time ingest engine. It records and makes content streams readily available for BHRT, controlling dedicated ingest software services that simultaneously produce versions suitable for archiving, editing, and remote access.

Cinegy Archive as Central Hub
Cinegy Archive serves as the central management hub, securely overseeing media asset metadata throughout BHRT’s facility. The solution offers centralized content management, supporting BHRT’s production and distribution needs. Additionally, the setup includes Cinegy’s transcoding software and Cinegy Prompter, compatible with various teleprompter devices and running on standard Windows-based systems.
Future System Upgrades
BHRT has outlined plans for future system enhancements, which will involve expanding capture and playout capabilities for new studios, multimedia transcoding for web content, and implementing loudness normalization. According to Žerić, these expansions will proceed as necessary, leveraging BHRT’s experience with the Cinegy system.
Continued Collaboration
Daniella Weigner, Managing Director of Cinegy, expressed the company’s commitment to assisting BHRT in addressing its operational challenges. Cinegy will continue to work closely with BHRT to support its ongoing and future needs.
