NAB 2024: Cobalt Digital Takes Home Three Awards

Cobalt Digital, a key player in the development of edge devices for live video production and master control and a founding partner of the openGear® initiative, has achieved significant recognition at NAB 2024.

The company was honored with two 2024 NAB Show Product of the Year awards and a Best of Show award by TV Tech, raising its total to 53 awards over 27 years, including a Technology & Engineering Emmy®.

Product of the Year Awards

The official awards program of NAB, the 2024 NAB Show Product of the Year, identifies and celebrates the most significant and promising new products displayed by exhibitors. These awards are determined by a panel of industry experts across 15 categories. The announcement was made during a live ceremony on April 16th.

Among the winners, the COBALT ARIA AUD4-DANTE received accolades in the Create category for its audio production, processing, and networking capabilities. This card offers a range of functions, including 12G DANTE/AES/MADI input and output, frame synchronization, and comes equipped with dual gigabit Ethernet ports and a full audio router mixer. Another Cobalt product, the COBALT PACIFIC ULL-DEC, was recognized in the Remote Production category. This card is capable of decoding various formats including H.262, H.264, H.265, and 4K video, all with ultra-low latency.

Best of Show Recognition

The Best of Show 2024 award at NAB was given to Cobalt’s PACIFIC 9992-ENC-INDIGO in the TV Tech category, selected from hundreds of entries. This new addition to Cobalt’s offerings is a software definable encoding platform that supports both traditional SDI and ST 2110 operations, allowing up to four channels of 1080p encoding. It also offers the flexibility of upgrading to advanced encoding capabilities through additional licenses.
