NANLUX, the professional division of the Chinese lighting brand NANLITE, has announced the release of the FL-28, a new Fresnel lens designed for the Evoke series of LED spotlights.
This lens, specifically tailored for the Evoke 900C, 1200, and 1200B models, stands out due to its compact size and light weight. Weighing only 3.86kg / 8.5 lbs (excluding barn doors), the FL-28 is 60% lighter than its predecessor, the FL-35YK Fresnel lens, which weighs 10.84kg / 23.9 lbs. Additionally, the FL-28 allows for beam angle adjustments ranging from 17° to 43°.
Enhanced Performance Specifications
When paired with the Evoke 1200B LED spotlight, the FL-28 can produce a maximum output of 50,330 lux at 3 meters distance (5600K, 17° beam angle). If used with the Evoke 900C model, it generates an output of 38,580 lux at 3 meters (5600K, 17° beam angle). Despite its reduced weight, NANLUX assures that the FL-28 can withstand the heat generated by the Evoke 1200W lights at their maximum output.
Compatibility and Limitations
The FL-28 is also compatible with the latest Evoke 2400B spotlight. However, to prevent heat-induced damage to the lens, its output will be limited to approximately 50%, resulting in a maximum illumination of 25,610 lux at 3 meters (5600K, 17° beam angle). NANLUX has plans to release another Fresnel lens specifically designed for the Evoke 2400B to fully utilize its higher output capabilities.
Integration with NL Mount System
The FL-28 incorporates NANLUX’s NL mount system, which includes communication pins. This feature enables the fixture to detect which accessory is attached. Consequently, when used with a 2400B fixture, the FL-28 can instruct the spotlight to operate at a maximum of 50% capacity to avoid any potential melting of the lens.
Release Date and Pricing
Scheduled for release in February 2024, the NANLUX FL-28 Fresnel lens will be available at a price of $690.
