Cooke Optics, known for its cine lenses such as the Cooke Panchro and S-line, produces the SP3 series of prime lense.
Launched in September 2023, these lenses are designed for digital age filmmaking, offering a lightweight and compact option for mirrorless and small cinema cameras. Priced at $4500/€3900 each, the lenses aim to be more accessible and are sold individually or as a five-lens set.
Technical Specifications
The SP3 series features lenses in five focal lengths: 25mm, 32mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm, all with a maximum aperture of T2.4. They are compatible with full-frame sensors and are equipped with uniform focus and aperture rings to facilitate quick changes on set. Initially available with a Sony E-mount, Cooke announced future availability of additional mounts.
New Mount Adapter Promotion
Cooke has recently introduced a promotion for buyers of the SP3 lenses. Upon purchase of any SP3 lens or the complete set, customers can now receive a free mount adapter. This adapter allows the lenses to be compatible with either Canon RF, Leica M, or L-mount systems, in addition to the standard Sony E-mount. The process for changing the mount involves simply unscrewing four screws, swapping the mount, and re-securing it.
Pricing and Purchase Details
The SP3 lenses are currently available for purchase at $4500/€3900 for a single lens or $21,375/€18,525 for the set of five. The offer for a free additional mount adapter is global and must be claimed within 90 days of the lens purchase.
