The Crew Upgrades with Clear-Com Tech

The Crew BV joins forces with Clear-Com to modernize OB van communications for versatile broadcasting.

In a significant move to modernize broadcasting capabilities, The Crew BV has partnered with Clear-Com to equip their new Outside Broadcasting (OB) van with the latest communication technology. Located near Hilversum, the broadcasting heart of the Netherlands, The Crew BV focuses on harnessing the skills of its team and the best equipment for a wide range of programming.

Their diverse content spectrum includes live sports, talent shows, fundraisers, and more, set in varied locations such as studios, theaters, and outdoor venues. To cater to these needs, The Crew BV has developed two advanced OB vans, with their latest OBV2 van being a central focus. This state-of-the-art vehicle supports up to 14 cameras and 16 workplaces, showcasing The Crew BV’s commitment to technical excellence.

The key to success in modern broadcasting lies in effective communication. To achieve this, The Crew BV relied on Clear-Com specialist Frans van Houten at Ampco Flashlight Sales for a comprehensive range of intercom solutions. The OBV2 is equipped with the Clear-Com Eclipse HX Digital Matrix system, which includes an E-IPA card with 32 ports, 15 V-Series Keypanels, 5 V-Series Desktop panels with headsets and microphones, and 24 Clear-Com 4W Interfaces. These interfaces connect to sound mixers, two-way radios, and other external systems.

Enhancing wireless communication, the OBV2 also features the FreeSpeak II digital wireless system, comprising 24 beltpacks and four IP transceivers. For added versatility, the system supports Agent-IC mobile app connections and the standalone Arcadia Central Station for smaller events.
