CS Media selects Custom Consoles Module-R desks for Studio MCR

Custom Consoles announces the completion of Module-R desks for CS Media.

The new desks have been integrated into a newly upgraded master control room. A full-service multimedia production company with offices in London and Manchester, CS Media has more than 25 years of experience in creating high-end video content for broadcast, digital media and live streams.

“Custom Consoles desks have a very good reputation for robust build, excellent ergonomics and attention to below-the-surface detail such as cable management,” says Colin Monk, Technical Director at CS Media. “The Module-R series in particular is attractively styled to blend in with practically any production environment. Our production facilities are state-of-the-art IT–based so we were able to save space in the MCR by opting for the 95 cm front-to-back Module-R Lite rather than the 120 cm depth standard version. Both desks are surfaced in black Marmoleum with grey side panels and silver anodised legs. They blend in very well with the overall MCR styling we were keen to achieve.”

CS Media recently chose Module-R desks for a successful third-party systems integration project so we were pleased that they made a similar choice for their own headquarters,” adds Custom Consoles Sales Manager Gary Fuller. “Module-R continues to be in strong demand from broadcasters and independent production houses here in Britain and overseas.”

The front MCR desk commissioned by CS Media is a 4 metre wide eight-bay inline unit with a 4U high sloping-front equipment pod occupying the rear of the middle two bays. Capable of simultaneous use by up to three operators, it accommodates two 21:9 aspect ratio curved monitor screens plus two additional 4K monitors. All monitor displays are mounted on user-adjustable supports.

The rear control desk is a dual operator design with a 16:9 monitor at each position. It comprises four inline bays with a 3U high sloping-front rear-of-desktop equipment pod above each bay.

A mix-and-matchable control room furniture system, Custom Consoles’ Module-R series enables aesthetically attractive and long-life broadcast control-room furniture to be configured to meet specific shapes and dimensions from a selection of high-quality pods, base sections, 19 inch rack housings, worktops, end-panel modules and legs. Coordinated desktop-level pods are available as single-bay sections with up to 10U chassis capacity.

The Module-R series includes high-quality single-bay, dual-bay and triple-bay desk sections with front and rear access, work surfaces in matching widths, corner desk sections with integral worktops, slide-out keyboard drawers, equipment pods with 3, 6 or 8U capacity, storage pedestals and equipment bays. Each 19 inch bay is pre-drilled in three positions to accept a wide range of monitor arms. Custom Consoles’ Module-R Lite variant was introduced for use in latest-generation IT-based studios or where space is at a premium.
