Czech Television has launched one of the largest LiveU live production projects in the region, modernizing its Outside Broadcast (OB) fleet for sports and news coverage.
Implemented with local partner Smart Informatics, the project equips 10 OB vans with LiveU’s bonded IP technology, including LU810 fixed encoders and servers.
Moving Away from Satellite and Landlines
The new system allows Czech TV to move away from traditional satellite and landline dependency, enabling reliable bi-directional IP connectivity, inter-van live feed exchange, and instant connections to the master control room in Prague. OB vans now function as fully connected mobile studios, capable of covering everything from lower-tier sports games to international events.

“This deployment modernizes our fleet, providing flexible, cost-effective live coverage for any sport or event,” said Antonin Svach, Head of OB Department, Czech TV.
