Atomos has announced the hiring of Daniel Moore as its new Chief Technical Officer (CTO).
Moore, who will be based in Melbourne, is set to collaborate closely with Jeromy Young, CEO and Co-Founder of Atomos, to lead a significant revitalization of the company in 2024.
Professional Background
Daniel Moore comes to Atomos with an extensive background in both software and hardware engineering. His most recent role was as CTO at Presien, a leader in Artificial Intelligence applications, where he was responsible for pioneering developments in embedded real-time machine learning vision systems and cloud-based analytics to improve safety in heavy industries. Moore’s career also includes a significant stint as Director of Software Engineering at Blackmagic Design, where he started during its early days and expanded the software engineering team significantly. His resume also boasts experience with the Australian Government’s CSIRO and Silicon Graphics, where he worked on operating systems for supercomputers.

According to Peter Barber, Atomos’ COO, the appointment of Daniel Moore is a key part of their strategy to position Atomos at the forefront of the professional video solutions market worldwide. Barber, who has previously worked with Moore at Blackmagic Design, highlighted Moore’s proven track record in leading diverse global engineering teams and integrating new technologies and teams post-acquisition. Moore will also be crucial in developing technical partnerships with major camera manufacturers and tech companies in Silicon Valley as Atomos expands its product line and internal capabilities through strategic acquisitions and development.
