This update introduces enhancements including the capability to wipe or apply grades to specific clips or layers within the active node stack.
Users can now compare grades by wiping between a still image in the gallery and an item in the timeline. Additionally, grades can be applied to either a single layer or an entire clip, providing more flexibility in editing.
Safe Area Overlay and Playback Features
The update also integrates a safe area overlay in the edit timeline viewer, which is now available during playback in both the cut and edit viewers. This feature aids in the precise placement of logos, titles, and other graphical elements to ensure they are displayed properly without being cropped.
Media Management and Audio Trimming
Improvements to media management tools now allow users to trim audio directly in MOV and MP4 video files. This feature supports trimming of flac or mp3 audio tracks, which helps in reducing file size by removing unnecessary audio content.
Project Update Options
The new beta version restores the option to choose whether to update DaVinci Resolve projects to the current version upon opening. When accessing older projects, users will be prompted to back up their projects before proceeding with an update to the latest software version.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
A number of bug fixes are included in this release. These fixes address issues such as the inability to copy and paste transitions on the edit timeline, the use of compositions with alpha layers over other clips, the application of compositions to Fusion clips via middle click, and the restoration of sync functionality to the dialogue separator tool.
