TKT1957.com review on the results of 2022 and the prospects for 2023, based on the opinions of leading technical managers in the film and broadcast industry.
Denis Vykhodtsev, CEO, Broadcast & Production VTV, Kazakhstan:
- When was the last technical upgrade, your company performed?
We are a private Kazakh company. In 2019, we carried out most of the work on our technical capabilities upgrade by converting the production trucks from SD to HD. Although, we are constantly updating and adding to our technical resources to keep up to date with modern TV production methods.
2. Do you schedule the equipment purchase in 2023?
We always do, if there are spare funds.
3. What do you regard as the Kazakhstan broadcast industry main trends in 2022?
We witnessed the technical capabilities of the broadcasting industry in Kazakhstan were fading. The equipment was getting older, there were no upgrades and no major breakthrough so far.
4. What TV technologies will be in high demand in 2023?
Among the new emerging solutions, we observe intensive TV signal delivery methods switching from satellite technologies to IP. But we still face a problem of misunderstanding among the telecommunication environment partners (Kazakhtelecom) on broadcasters’ signal transmission reliability needs. In 2023, we will definitely keep working in HD without developing HDR or at least switching from mono audio to stereo.
