Magewell, a leader in video technology, has unveiled the “Director Mini.”

This all-in-one system streamlines live production and streaming, allowing a single operator to manage live events and more. It’s set to debut at “IBC 2023” in Amsterdam and will be available for shipping soon after.

The “Director Mini” boasts a variety of input sources: two HDMI, two USB AV, and three live IP sources, including “SRT”, “RTMP”, and two “NDI HX” streams. It also allows for the integration of file-based content such as video and audio. The device’s 5.44” AMOLED touchscreen offers an intuitive interface, with features like chroma keying, on-screen drawing, and PTZ camera control.

Complementing the device is the “Director Utility” app for iOS and Android. This app provides remote control capabilities and can even turn a smartphone’s camera into a streaming source for the “Director Mini”, supporting up to three mobile devices simultaneously.

The “Director Mini” can encode video up to 1080p at 60fps and offers a 30Mbps bitrate. It’s designed to stream to platforms like “YouTube Live”, “Facebook™ Live”, and others using “RTMP”. A standout feature is its ability to display live comments from platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, or Twitch. The device also supports “SRT” streaming, making it ideal for remote productions. Content can be saved to various storage options, including its internal storage.

Designed for flexibility, the “Director Mini” can be mounted using standard accessories and can function in both horizontal and vertical orientations. It’s powered by an included adapter but also supports two external NP-F batteries for extended use.
