DirectOut has introduced a native plugin for Bitfocus Companion. The development is the result of cooperation between DirectOut, its German distributor sphereo, and Companion module programmer Dorian Meid.
The plugin is compatible with Companion version 4.0.0 and later and automatically detects devices from the PRODIGY and MAVEN Series. It supports use with any Stream Deck hardware interface and provides programmable presets and parameter control.
Functionality of Companion
Companion is open-source software used to control devices in live and broadcast environments, with or without a physical interface. Its buttons can be assigned to a wide range of functions, from simple commands to sequences of actions, allowing users to manage multiple devices from one control surface.
Control Features of the DirectOut Module
The DirectOut module provides access to most functions of PRODIGY and MAVEN devices, including routing, configuration, and status reporting such as EARS. Each parameter has a learn function that retrieves the current value of the selected control. This assists users who need to add actions without knowledge of the protocol. The Action Recorder enables capturing complex processes for later triggering.
Additional Tools and Presets
Companion includes a web-admin emulator, allowing users to trigger actions without hardware controllers. Stream Deck button layouts can be arranged for different workflows, and users can create and save multiple pages. The module also includes preset collections that can be adjusted within its configuration.
