Disguise reveals vx 4+

Disguise has released its new flagship media server: vx 4+.

The server is built for large and technically complex productions, installations and shows. All of these production environments have one thing in common: they require a reliable solution that supports high performance video processing at scale with minimal latency.

With the ability to handle twice as many video layers as its award-winning predecessor, the new disguise vx 4+ machine boosts storage performance and dramatically improves video quality, delivering up to 100GbE throughput for higher resolution real-time video.

“Production teams are constantly striving to push the boundaries of what is possible, with many experimenting with new technologies and workflows, using live content or using video content at unlimited scale and complexity. As these ambitions grow, playing large-scale content without delay remains a challenge,” explained Raed Al Tikriti, Director of Disguise Products.

“disguise vx 4+ satisfies the urgent need for an ultra-reliable, high-performance server capable of handling the most demanding bandwidth and processing data-intensive videos. Built on our team’s deep understanding of the needs of today’s production, installations and large scale shows, vx4+ offers our customers cutting-edge technologies that work with a disguised modular ecosystem of solutions and offer the most reliable and efficient solution for your production.”

An integral part of a modular masking ecosystem and working with VFC masking cards, rx render nodes and a pre-configured network switch framework, the vx4+ is designed for projects that require a robust and scalable solution. The inclusion of two 100GbE network ports and 12G video capture as standard allows vx4+ to be used for 4K xR compositing along with a cluster of rx render nodes. The integration of the new PCI-Express 4.0 motherboard, CPU, GPU and RAID storage guarantees unrivaled vx4+ video playback and linking performance. Combined vx 4+ provides additional capacity to meet performance expectations while also keeping video latency to a minimum.

As disguise continues its mission of bringing next-generation visual experiences to audiences worldwide, vx 4+ is compatible with disguise’s upcoming IP Video Format Transformation (VFC) cards, which will be released in the second half of the year. IP-VFC is the industry’s first patented technology that allows users to change the video output from their hidden media server to the SMPTE 2110’s video output.
