DPA Microphones announces expanded roster of new hires

The additions are company-wide, with new hires in product management, research and development, sales, marketing and manufacturing.

Recent hires include Helga Somava, who recently joined DPA as one of the brand’s directors of product management. A graduate of the Copenhagen College of Engineering with a major in export engineering, Somava has leadership experience from past leadership and management positions at Bang & Olufsen, GN Netcom and most recently at NUORI ApS where she was Chief Operating Officer. In his new position, Somawa will oversee the development of new products as they are in line with the DPA’s goals for the industry.

Another recent addition to the team is Torben Eckenberg, the company’s new head of research and development. In this role, Eckenberg, who holds various degrees in electromechanics and business, will lead the research work needed to create new technologies and equipment. Eckenberg, a former R&D manager for Brüel&Kjær’s transducer division, came to DPA knowing the brand and its technology well. Most recently, Ekenberg has served as Director of Program Management at BK Medical and has also held various management positions at NNE Pharmaplan, Contex AS and Glunz&Jensen.

To further strengthen DPA’s talented R&D team, Nicolai Weijen has joined DPA as a Senior Project Manager. Weyen has an MSc and PhD in mechanical engineering and over 20 years of experience in research and development. Weijen has spent most of his career at audio and multimedia company Bang & Olufsen where he has held various project management positions and was responsible for overseeing the development of the B&O Play product line. Most recently, Weien served as a Senior Project Manager at Jabra.

DPA’s sales team has also been expanded with new faces around the world, with Richard Watts joining as the new Regional Manager for the UK South and Konrad Majchrowski as the Regional Sales Manager for Poland. The USA welcomed JC Bittence as Regional Sales Manager for the US Midwest and Carlito Cobos, whose focus will be on sales in the US South and Latin America. All four have a wealth of experience: Watts’ work as an audio professional, Maichrowski’s years of experience in live sound production, Bittence’s award-winning sales and management efforts, and Cobos’ exposure to audio production and global market development.

Back at headquarters, DPA added a new digital marketing specialist, Tatiana Kulik, who joined the company from Issuu, an e-book/digital magazine platform widely used in the media industry, where she worked as a data analyst and formerly a digital marketing specialist . Prior to that, Kulik worked for STYLEPIT and ProfiWebArt in various digital marketing roles.

Others hired earlier this year include Asger Beck Petersen as an automation engineer, Michael Sloot Henriksen as a mechanical engineer, and Ulrichs Wesmins, who has taken on the role of supply chain planner.
