DZOFILM Adds 65mm, 135mm, 180mm Lenses to PAVO Series, Starting at $5499

During the 2023 NAB Show, DZOFILM introduced its PAVO Anamorphic series. This year, the company is expanding this lineup with three additional focal lengths.

DZOFILM has expanded its PAVO series by introducing three new lenses: the Macro 65mm T2.8, 135mm T2.5, and 180mm T2.8. These lenses complement the existing array, which includes 28, 32, 40, 55, 75, and 100mm focal lengths, enhancing the series with longer options for varied filming needs.

Highlight on Macro 65mm Lens

The highlight of the new additions is the 65mm macro lens, which boasts the closest focus capability in the world for a 2x anamorphic lens. With a minimum focusing distance of 36.6cm and a 1:2 magnification ratio, this lens is specifically designed to capture detailed close-up shots. It provides an effective combination of close focusing capabilities and magnification for capturing intricate details with clarity.

Key Features of the New Lenses
  • Magnification ratio of 1:2 for the 65mm lens.
  • Enhanced control of chromatic aberration.
  • Produces oval bokeh and smooth out-of-focus areas.
  • The image circle of 31.5mm covers mainstream Super 35 format cameras.
  • Each lens maintains a consistent weight between 1.2 to 2kg.
  • Offered with both metric and imperial focus markings and includes built-in back-focus adjustment.

These lenses are designed to be versatile, supporting various filming techniques from handheld to aerial shots using gimbals, Steadicams, or drones. This makes them suitable for both independent filmmakers and large-scale productions.

Aperture and Bokeh

The PAVO series lenses feature a 16-blade aperture diaphragm (except for the 28mm, which has 14 blades), creating the classic oval-shaped bokeh characteristic of anamorphic lenses. DZOFILM’s commitment to precision in optical design ensures effective and precise control of the imagery.

Availability and Pricing

The PAVO Anamorphic Lenses are currently available for pre-order from authorized DZOFILM dealers. The 65mm lens is priced at USD $6879 or EUR €6389, with shipping set to start on May 10th. The 135mm and 180mm lenses are priced at USD $5499 or EUR €5107, with shipping beginning on April 20th. Bundle options are also available for purchase.
