Interview with Ed Qualls, CEO at Just Add Power, at ISE 2024.
I’m Ed Qualls with Just Add Power. Today, we’re showcasing new additions to our ever-growing family of AV over IP devices. We’ve been building these since 2008 and have continually designed our technology to be evolutionary, not revolutionary. This means we keep releasing new devices that work with existing ones, allowing you to add functionality to an existing system to do more things. We offer three ranges: a 1080p range, a 4K 30 range, and behind me here, our premium 4K60 range. All three have one thing in common: they run on gigabit copper and are equally flexible, supporting virtually an unlimited number of screens and sources that can all be matrixed together.
Here at the show, we’re launching two new pieces for our MaxColor line. One is our AES Audio Bridge device, which looks like this (shows product). This device bridges the world between Dante and AES audio to the AV over IP world. You can take eight audio streams in both directions, meaning you can extract up to eight channels of audio or inject eight channels of audio simultaneously.
Another thing we’re launching here at the show is our Multiview Tiler for the MaxColor series.
My favorite feature is the picture-to-picture mode, where I can grab a tile, move it around, adjust the transparency, and resize it. This makes it a very simple way to manage multiple sources and can be very useful in environments ranging from command and control centers for security to entertainment settings where you might want to watch the big game while keeping an eye on something else in a corner of the screen. We will continue to grow the AV over IP series, with more stuff coming.
