EditShare, a technology leader in collaborative workflows, has enhanced its installation at Last Cut Media, a prominent post-production house in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The upgrade includes AI indexing from Mobius and the EditShare MediaSilo collaboration platform, implemented by Advanced Media Trading, EditShare’s distribution partner in the Middle East.
Upgraded Storage Solutions
In early 2023, Last Cut Media transitioned from its previous storage systems to an EditShare storage network. This network consists of an EFS 300 shared online store, a nearline server, and LTO tape archiving, aimed at optimizing operations for content creators.
Increased Capacity and Functionality
Due to a rise in premium business demands, Last Cut Media opted for an extension that doubles the system capacity by adding a second EFS 300 storage node. This expansion aims to enhance both the capacity and functionality of their existing infrastructure.
Integration of AI Technology
The new setup includes Mobius technology, which integrates into the EditShare FLOW asset management system. This integration provides AI capabilities to generate detailed metadata, such as facial and scene detection. The Mobius knowledge base comprises over 5,000 objects, emotions, and actions, along with 10,000 well-known personalities, expanding with each content piece processed through FLOW.
Implementation of MediaSilo Collaboration System
Last Cut Media also replaced its standalone distribution system with the EditShare MediaSilo collaboration system. This system integrates seamlessly with the storage network, enabling producers and remote collaborators to receive high-quality viewing copies efficiently and timely.
Statement from Last Cut Media
Saad Duaibes, General Manager of Last Cut Media, noted the importance of providing clients with access to updates without requiring travel to the facility. He mentioned the company’s clientele spans various creative centers, including Lebanon, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia.
Continued Growth with EditShare Solutions
Duaibes stated that the switch to EditShare storage has streamlined workflows and facilitated business growth. The expansion of the storage network will accommodate new projects, and the company is interested in utilizing additional tools, including artificial intelligence.

Michele Dwayk, head of sales for EditShare in the Middle East, emphasized Last Cut Media’s reputation in the region and the diverse workflows associated with different projects. She highlighted how EditShare FLOW’s flexibility allows Last Cut Media to tailor its project setups according to specific creative and business needs.
