Leading broadcast solutions specialist ES Broadcast has taken delivery of the UK’s first Sony HDC-F5500 rental units – and will showcase the camera’s impressive creative capabilities at a technology and networking event in London next week.
The company recently took delivery of 10 HDC-F5500 channels, which use a full-frame Super 35mm sensor and PL mount lenses to deliver shallow depth of field for dramatic artistic shots in live productions. The camera fits seamlessly into Sony’s live production workflow alongside its sister system camera the HDC-F5500 and other UHD solutions.
It is expected to be a popular addition to sports, concerts and live events productions, enabling the enhanced level of creativity delivered by a full frame sensor within a dedicated system camera.
“The F5500 units have already been out on their first job and we are expecting them to be in high demand,” said Warren Taggart, Managing Director of ES Broadcast Hire. “As camera technology becomes ever more innovative, it is a key aspect of our ethos to continue to offer the very latest solutions on the market to help our clients deliver even more spectacular live productions.”
The Sony HDC-F5500 will be the focal point of the latest ES Broadcast technology and networking event, which takes place at the Soho Hotel, London, from 16:30 on Thursday 21 July. Sony camera specialist Neil Thompson will provide an overview of the camera, having worked with it on the Tyson Fury versus Dillian Whyte boxing match earlier this year. Attendance at the event is free but registration is essential, via esbroadcast.com/events.
