Pixellot, a provider of AI-Automated sports video and analytics solutions, has signed an agreement to become the exclusive video and analytics solution provider at Fiorentina’s new state-of-the-art training complex.
Under the new agreement, Pixellot will supply its cutting-edge video and data technology to enhance training and coaching for all club teams on nine pitches at its new complex — which is based in the municipality of Bagno a Ripoli outside Florence, Italy, and will open at the end of the year. Additionally, the academy home games will be livestreamed on Fiorentina’s platform.
The brand-new Fiorentina training ground and club headquarters will be one of the largest sports complexes in Italy – spanning around 25 hectares. The vision of Fiorentina owner, Mediacom founder-CEO Rocco Commisso, marks the first time in its history Fiorentina will own its own training ground. This cutting-edge complex will provide a single hub for the men’s and women’s first teams, and the youth academy. The move enables Fiorentina to develop from both a sporting and innovation perspective.
“Our new training complex will be the most advanced football facility in the country, and we need technology that matches that ambition,” said Joe Barone, general manager of Fiorentina. “Pixellot was the clear choice for high quality video capture, streaming, and analytics. This technology will be an invaluable tool for our coaches and analysts to improve player coaching and help us find the next stars of the club.”
Under this new collaboration, the companies said, Fiorentina will benefit from Pixellot’s diverse product solutions which include installed and mobile live streaming cameras, and an analytics and video analysis platform.
Alongside the high-quality capture and live streaming, Pixellot delivers automatically produced video for coding, tagging, and annotating after games and practices. Fiorentina coaches will be able to enjoy the game video, automated highlights, in-depth analytics, and full video breakdowns, including shots charts and heatmaps, to gain an unparalleled competitive advantage.
