Sony has released Firmware Update Version 3.01 for the a7S III. This update addresses several known issues and improves the camera’s operational stability.
Fixes for ISO Value Issues
The update corrects the following ISO value-related problems:
Incorrect display of the ISO value when outputting RAW video to a RAW-compatible device via HDMI.
Incorrect upper and lower limit setting ranges when the ISO value is set to Auto.
Network Connectivity Issue
The update also resolves an issue where the camera might fail to connect to the network.
Improved Operational Stability
The update enhances the overall operational stability of the camera.
Important Information Before Downloading
Save Your Settings
After updating to this version, all camera settings will be reset to default values. The update includes new functions and significant specification changes, so it is recommended to document all current camera settings before proceeding. Settings saved using various features (such as Save/Load Settings and Save/Load FTP Settings) before Version 3.01 will not be retrievable after the update.
Switching from Imaging Edge Mobile to Creators’ App
Users of the Imaging Edge Mobile app should note that updated cameras will no longer connect to this app. After updating, users must install the Creators’ App. Ensure that the Imaging Edge Mobile app is updated to Version 7.7.2 or later to pair with the Creators’ App. If necessary, update the app before attempting to connect. For guidance on installing and connecting the Creators’ App, refer to “Migrating from Imaging Edge Mobile app to Creators’ App.” Additionally, the NFC one-touch connection function available up to Version 2.11 will no longer be supported.
