Flanders Scientific has introduced a new firmware update, version 2.4.40, for its range of XMP series monitors.
This update, classified as minor, addresses several important issues. It rectifies problems related to audio de-embedding distortion and fixes a visual distortion issue that was present in the third quadrant during quad 3G / 1.5G display mode on the XMP310 model.
Instructions for Updating Firmware
To apply the latest firmware update, users should first download the .zip file from the Flanders Scientific website. Upon downloading, the file needs to be extracted to access the firmware .img file inside. It’s crucial not to attempt to run or mount the .img file directly.
Connecting XMP Series Monitors for Update
For the update process, an Ethernet cable should be connected to the monitor’s LAN port to link the XMP Series Monitor to a network. These monitors are designed to be DHCP compatible, automatically acquiring an IP address from the network. The monitor’s IP address can be found in the System menu for further actions.
Updating the Firmware
Within the IP Remote Utility, users should select the “Update Firmware” option, which brings up a dialog box to choose the firmware file. After selecting the previously unzipped .img file and confirming the selection, the update process will begin. A dialog box will prompt for confirmation; clicking OK will start the firmware update, during which the monitor will undergo a power cycle. To finalize the update, a second power cycle is recommended after the monitor reboots.
